Biography



As a world class multi-instrumentalist, Brian is well known on the Scottish

music scene, working with some of the country’s best musicians. He has

over 67 albums under his belt, along with extensive live touring and

countless radio sessions and television appearances.


Although best known for his work in traditional music with "Scottish Traditional Supergroup" Session A9, Brian has worked across a wide variety of genres after coming to attention with cult Scottish popsters The Pearlfishers.


From performing to composing, arranging and producing, his skills reach across a wide range of genres from traditional to contemporary. 


His debut solo album, The Mutual Imagination Society, combines traditional composition, soundscape, classical development and contemporary techniques. Brian aims to capture and demonstrate a feeling of modern Scottish culture and tradition, through his music and his approach to both composition and production.


Compositions include music for film, TV, advertising and corporate branding.
